Hey y’all! I hope that you’re having a great week! After sharing a few Beautycounter products that I use during my night time routine on my insta stories this past week, I received several messages and email about Beautycounter. You can read all about my transition to a non-toxic beauty routine here. And see a few of my last posts explaining in detail our bath routine, lip care, and a few other of my favorites in these links. I wanted to create a guide to my most frequently asked questions so y’all can reference at any time and see everything in black and white. I’ve tried to include as many questions as I could remember but if you have any more for me that I didn’t cover just shoot me an email email@example.com and I will respond asap.
I want to clean out my beauty products and use only Beautycounter but it’s such an expensive move. What are your tips and how did you do this process?
honestly, I don’t have the money to just ball out and buy every single Beautycounter product at once. I wish I did but I’m being real with you! What I suggest to everyone and what I did for myself is going to the Environment Working Group website and typing all of your products (one at a time) into the Skin Deep page. This will show you what ingredients are in your products, what they are linked too and how toxic they are rated on a scale of one to ten. Once I researched my products, I took the top five toxic ones and threw them in the trash. Yeap, throw those bad boys away! I know that sounds like a waste of money but once I found out the yucky stuff that I was using on my skin I no longer cared to harm my body. Then I replaced them with the corespondening Beautycounter products. The next month, I went down the line with the next products that ranked high for toxic chemicals and replaced them. Then the next month did the same thing. I did this until I had replaced everything with Beautycounter and didn’t go broke trying to do so!
I don’t have a lot of time to apply makeup. Can you give me a quick routine that will help me not look like a mombie?
yasssssss mama, I got you! I am in the same boat and I swear if it wasn’t for coffee and Beautycounter I could pass for a zombie from the Walking Dead. Beautycounter actually released a YouTube tutorial for a three minute beauty routine that you can view here. For my simple and beautiful every day look I use the following products: concealer pen, Tint Skin foundation applied with the retractable brush, concealer pen again (for extra coverage), mattify powder, color sweep blush, brow pencil, lengthing mascara and a lip sheer. Mic drop, you’re done and gorg within minutes! Once you get into a routine it can be done in such a short amount of time, I normally do my makeup in the car while the kids are preoccupied.
How do you color match over the internet? I don’t want to order the wrong color Tint Skin Foundation and concealer.
so I want to address several points here. Number one – Beautycounter has a 60 day money back guarantee so if you get something and don’t like it or it’s not your correct shade you can send it back for a refund. Easy-peasy.
Number two – its pretty easy to color match the Tint Skin. I wear LINEN during the winter, LINEN and SAND mixed during the spring and fall and SAND during the summer (sometimes Honey if I get extra dark). I would never ever suggest buying the PORCELAIN because that’s for like paper white skin and I don’t have one client who uses that color.
Number three – when buying the concealer I like to go a few shades lighter than my foundation so it adds a brightness to your face. I use this like a highlighter so under my eyes, fore head, down my nose, etc.
Number four – shoot me a message if you ever get confused. I am great at color matching and I don’t mind helping you. I want you to be completely happy with your products so I won’t steer you in the wrong direction.
I have such bad acne and breakouts. What product do you suggest for that?
My number one question is what is your diet like? What you eat and drink has a HUGE effect on your skin so if you don’t have a good diet then no amount of acne products will ever help you. Junk food, sodas and even diary can make your skin break out.
Once we figure out what you’re eating then we can move forward.
I suggest the charcoal bar to every single one of my clients. It’s great for acne, psoriasis, eczema and rosacea. I wash my face with it once a day and it has made a huge difference of clearing up my skin! The ingredients in our charcoal bar that help clear skin are: charcoal powder (drawing and detoxifying), coconut oil (bacteria fighting), witch hazel (astringent and bacteria fighting) and green tea (bacteria fighting and energizing). The coconut oil and sunflower oil helps soothe your face and body during this process.
I want to order the Tint Skin foundation. What are your tips to applying?
When ordering the Tint Skin foundation from Beautycounter, I only suggest doing it if you buy the Retractable brush with it. These products go hand and hand like peanut butter and jelly. By using the brush with the Tint Skin it helps you save product (I use a dime size amount and my bottle normally lasts me 6 months) and it gives you an air brushed finish. You can view a tutorial on how to apply by clicking here.
what is Band of Beauty?
This is the customer loyalty program for Beautycounter… and it is excellent!
It’s $29 annually to join our Band of Beauty loyalty program and the perks definitely pay off right away. You get a free welcome gift with $50 purchase, free shipping for all orders of $100 or more and you get 15% of every product order in a credit to use with your next order. The product credits are good for 60 days and there’s no minimum purchase or catch. The credit just comes off the total.
Does Beautycounter offer any discount codes?
Beautycounter randomly offers deals on their products but never discount codes. The current special right now is their Winter Sale! A lot of their top sellers are on sale until January 8th. Some of the sale items have already sold out like the kids shampoo and Naughty to Nice set so get your shop on while the rest of the items are still available!
What made you become a consultant?
I started using the products about three years ago and then I had a friend that is a Beautycounter consultant tell me how amazing I would be and why I needed to join. I finally joined because I wanted the discount on the products that I was falling in love with and buying on a regular basis. I live in the middle of no where, I am lucky if I see another adult (other than my husband) during the week so I honestly didn’t think my sales would become really high. After seeing my mentors (the people above me in the Beautycounter chain) hit goals and start making thousands of dollars, I decided what the heck, I am going to give this a shot! I started talking about it, sharing my love for the company, the mission and the products and as the months passed, my business has grown! Last month, my Beautycounter check was enough to buy Christmas and pay for my car payment! This month when my check deposits it will be even bigger and next month I plan on it being even bigger. All because I am building a amazing team of ladies and I have a growing client list that is ordering every month and sometimes multiple times a month! Once you try Beautycounter you just fall in love and it’s becoming more and more apparent for me as I get feedback from everyone about the products they get.
What are your favorite skin care products?
I use the charcoal bar to wash my face, the Rejuvenating Toner Pads to help reduce my pore size and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, the Rejuvenating Eye Cream to reduce the appearance of wrinkles around my eyes, and the Balancing face oil to help balance my combination skin.
Take the time to watch this video by Beautycounter so you can understand the mission better. This video is something that I share with everyone and it gives me chills everytime I watch it. If you have any questions please feel free to shoot me an email!
