One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to consistently practice yoga. I have done so since January 1st, and I am so happy with how far my practice has come already. I live in the country where most people do not know what yoga is, so my husband, Derrek, and I practice at home. In the past, I have attended classes at studios with my friends, but because I was very insecure about being a beginner, I never let myself go in class. I knew I could not do the moves others were able to do with little effort, so I always held back. Personally, I like practicing at home.
Postpartum recovery for my body is very important to me. I aim to rebuild my body in healthy ways that benefit me and Harper via my breast milk.
Yoga benefits your mind and body by relieving stress. This works perfectly for me because I work from home around two young, active kids. A chance for me to slow down is always welcome, but when I do, I try to incorporate the kids.
Nolan is at an age where he wants to be our shadow. If I wear a hat, he has to get his. If he sees us vacuuming, he wants to vacuum, too. One day on Pinterest, I stumbled across this baby yoga mat company called Bendi Baby, and since Harper and Nolan always take over our mats, I knew I had to get them their own! When I pull out my mat, Nolan runs to get his. His favorite yoga position is downward dog.
Since Harper is a little younger, right now she loves to lounge on her mat and play with her toys.
I am excited to see her yoga moves as she gets older. For now, she is a yogi fashionista. I love these custom matching yoga pants Lovekikikins made for us. I told her we love pinks, peaches, and prints, and she found this cool fabric for us.
I wear mine constantly when I practice yoga and with cozy cardigans while running errands.
