This blog has been compensated by Ergo and I received these products in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Read my disclaimer page for more information. Last year, Derrek stole the show in my Real Men Wear Babies post featuring our baby carrier by Ergo Baby. I couldn’t let him have all the glory so, I am sharing my Ergo Baby style with y’all! This post was intended to coincide with International Babywearing Week but Hurricane Matthew had other plans for us. As a mom of three kids, I have learned to throw my plans out the window, strap on a baby and roll with it! Before I had Scarlet Reese, I never wore my other babies in an Ergo until they were older because I didn’t feel like fussing with the infant insert. Thanks to the Ergo Adapt Carrier, I can throw it on and slip her into it without the insert.
Let me tell you why the Adapt Carrier is so great and why you absolutely need one! This Carrier can be used from newborn to toddler without any extra attachments involved. This is VERY rare in the Babywearing world! Ergo created an adjustable Velcro base with ergonomic seating so you can wear your newborn or that 45 pound toddler who refused her stroller and is a crying puddle because she wants Mama to hold her. There are three size settings you can adjust with the Velcro on the Ergo Adapt so it literally grows with your child’s size.
Another feature that I am in love with is the lumber back support that is built into the buckle waistband. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve carried my babies, even during pregnancies, in my Ergo and after hours of wearing I ended up with low back pain. The lumber back support has changed that completely and I now never have that issue. I look forward to wearing Scarlet Reese to the fair this weekend, pumpkin picking and all the fun family activities we have planned this year!
My absolute favorite thing about the Ergo Adapt Carrier is how easy it is to nurse in. I went into Target yesterday with my sister and after 20 minutes shopping, Scarlet Reese started to get fussy while I was wearing her. I told my sister that I needed to feed her and moved my v neck over and started nursing her without anyone seeing. My sister said “ok let’s go to the dressing room so you can nurse.” I told her that I was already nursing her and the look on her face was priceless! She had no clue and thought it was the coolest thing that I was nursing her and she would have never known had I of not told her.
I am so pleased with the Ergo Adapt! It is a great way to babywear and only invest in ONE Carrier from newborn to toddler. The more kids that I have, the more I realize the importance of quality verses quantity and the Ergo Adapt is a perfect example of that!
