Matcha Love For My New Favorite Latte

This post is in partner with Vital Proteins. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Please read my disclaimer page for more information.

Since I learned that I was pregnant with baby number four, coffee hasn’t seemed quite as appealing to me. It makes me very jittery and I feel like that makes it counteractive for me personally. I have started looking into other alternatives because lets face it, as a mom of three and one on the way, I need all the energy I can get! I saw that Vital Proteins had a Matcha Collagen and I had to try it. I am so thankful that I did because it is AMAZING. It’s probably my favorite Vital Proteins product that I’ve tried so far and I’ve been fortunate enough to try them all.

Matcha is a very concentrated form of green tea. The way it’s grown and consumed means that it’s packed full of essential vitamins and minerals. Matcha contains 137 times the antioxidants of regular green tea. This form of green tea gives you energy all day. Matcha provides 4 to 6 hours of mild steady energy as it acts as both a stimulant and relaxant. This is ideal for focusing on whatever the day throws your way. Consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body’s own rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy expenditure, to between 35% and 43% of daily energy expenditure.  Antioxidants are essential as you age to boost your body’s natural defenses against oxidation. Researchers have found that a high level of dietary antioxidants can prevent many age-related diseases. Matcha green tea also helps protect the skin from harmful UV rays while improving blood flow and oxygen levels lifting the overall quality of the skin.

There are so many more health benefits but I didn’t want to overwhelm ya’ll with to much information. Just know that matcha + collagen is HEAVEN! I drink mine in the form of a matcha latte and I LOVE it. Here’s the recipe.
