Little blue dress.

I am all about leggings and over sized shirts during the fourth trimester. There’s nothing better than being comfortable while your body is healing and you have a newborn to take care of. On the off chances you need to dress nicer than your typical mom uniform, I’ve got you covered! Wearing  clothing postpartum is all about figuring out what works for your body and not trying to get your body to work to fit into the clothing. One of the worst things you can do to yourself while you already feel a certain way about your body is trying to stuff it in clothing that isn’t meant for your body at the moment. I have a huge box of clothes that I wish I could wear but I packed them up so they wouldn’t torture me while I can’t wear them. Not having them stare me down in my closet helps take the pressure off of squeezing into them right now. Instead, I take comfort in wearing flowy dresses when I need to dress up for something.

Dresses like this one from Kin Maternity hide all the parts that I’m insecure about and show off all of the good parts like my milk boobs and legs… (Ow, ow, mama, you got this!) Wedges are my go to shoe with some height. I am so short that I love a good heel but I’m not experienced enough to walk in sky high stilettos without looking like a newborn giraffe. These fringe wedges came from Dottie Couture Boutique earlier this year but have sold out since so I’ve linked a similar pair above. I am obsessed with the fringe trend and they are a great POP for this outfit. I really hope that you take it easy on yourself about your body, no matter what stage of life you are at. Dress for yourself and don’t try and make something work that doesn’t, this is my advice to keeping yourself happy.
