I’ve decided that every week, I will share some my favorite green beauty products. My purpose in doing so is to show y’all how important using organic products really is! I don’t do things just to be labeled as a hippie. I do it for my health and my family’s health. There are so many toxic chemicals that fill the beauty products that are sold at everyday department stores. It is really scary!
I highly suggest downloading the Think Dirty app and typing in the names of the products that are currently in your bathrooms and makeup bags and try not to freak out. After you throw out all of that icky toxic stuff, I hope you settle in and read this blog and see what organic products I’ve found that work! Today I am going to feature Kosmatology, an organic and natural skin care line. Let me give you a little background about this amazing company: the owner is a pharmacist. Dr. Covey developed and formulated organic and natural solutions for skincare. She has a personal relationship of dealing with Eczema, due to the fact that her youngest child has it. She refused to go the steroid route so she decided to develop her own.
Goody-Goody Grapefruit – Body Wash
I really like switching up my body wash and the Goody-Goody Grapefruit has the perfect scent for this time of year. It is uplifting and energizing, so while I’m taking my bath, the aroma helps stimulate my mind and body helping me become more alert! They use only the best ingredients in this and the grapefruit used has many benefitical qualities for your skin. It is very nourishing and it is rich in anti-oxidants like Vitamin C. These anti-oxidants help fight the activity of free radicals. By fighting free radicals, grapefruit protects the body from the harm-causing byoxidants and toxins including premature aging and degeneration of tissues. Because grapefruit possesses both anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties this body wash assists in the prevention of eczema patches becoming infected and promotes healing with its anti-inflammatory effects. I have really seen a difference in my skin after I’ve used it for a few months!
To use: This body wash works best if used with a washcloth, simply wet a cloth, apply a dime size amount or more and massage gently into the skin. Rinse and you’re done!
Bug Repellant Balm
Look up your favorite household named bug spray on the Think Dirty app and let yourself get freaked out by the ingredients. We do not use bug spray that contains DEET. The chemicals in those DEET products are out of this world, and I refuse to let my kids get near it. For this reason I chose to order this bug repellant from Kosmatology. I really love this balm because they combined essential oils that deter bugs and keep yourself and your family safe! Our kids really enjoy applying this to themselves before we go outside. It has been raining here for days upon days, stopping for a few and starting again, so the size of the mosquitoes are ridiculous and they come at you like crazy when you walk outside. Now that we apply this balm before we head out, everyone gets to enjoy the breezy weather and minus the bug bites.
To use: Apply all over exposed areas before heading outdoors. Enjoy not being bothered by bugs while you enjoy the outdoors!
Lotion Bar – Grapefruit
If you’re a mom and have made it through your children’s life without having your favorite liquid lotion dumped out into your purse, on your rug, or in your makeup bag, then congrats, but your day is coming. That is the most annoying thing to have to clean up! My kids have dumped out so many of my lotions that I quit for a while and kept a jar of coconut oil in my cabinet hidden for when I needed it. Now that I learned about the lotion bars from Kosmatology, my life has changed. This little bar has been made without the water keeping it mess-free and easier to carry around with you. I actually keep mine in my purse and use it when I see that my skin is feeling extra dry. Now that the weather is changing, my hands have a tendency to get really dry so I just pull out my lotion bar and problem solved!
To use: Apply as needed to skin and rub in.
