Happy Friday y’all! I am sure y’all are feeling the same way I do about this week… it was toooo dang long! Between random things popping up, canceled plans, lack of sleep due to Scarlet Reese and having to pee every five minutes, I am happy to reset and recharge this weekend.
I’ll spare everyone a long(er) post but if you wanna know more about what’s happened this week, it’s on my instastories. Long story short, I want y’all to know that it’s really hard opening up and sharing some not so “perfect” things with everyone but I find it so helpful to share so that other people going through it can know there’s a Light at the end of the tunnel. I digress, back to the fun stuff!
Yall ask me soooo many questions that a little Q and A roundup only seemed fitting to answer everything. I also wanted to share a few things I’ve gotten in the mail this week that I am really excited about. I am an online shopper by nature. Me in a store with three kids isn’t my idea of shopping.
Lets talk about mail first.. I worked hard to win a few incentives through the company I work for, Beautycounter, and this week my prizes came in. My first gift was a 3 set of the mini facial oil bottles that launched during the Holiday collection and sold out quickly after. The oil bottles are the perfect size for traveling and lending out so I am keeping one set and gifting the other two. I have several friends going through chemo therapy treatments right now and I know that they would love to use these on their sensitive skin. I personally use the Brightening and Balancing oils as needed. The second gift I received was from one of my mentors, Christi Hucks, she had an incentive amongst her entire team and the top two consultants won. She gifted myself and the other winner new Apple iWatches! Y’all… I love it! But I am clueless on how to work it, haha. So please send help!
Harper has had a problem staying consistent with her potty training. We think it’s because she gets so busy with what she is doing and just forgets. I’ve tried everything to get her to do better but it hasn’t been successful. With her fourth birthday around the corner, I decided to work really hard on fixing the issue. I saw someone that shared a post on Facebook about a potty watch so I looked into it. Y’all! She is obsessed. It came this morning and you can set it to go off (it plays music) in intervals to remind them to go pee. I’ve got her watch set to go off every forty minutes. Every single time it has, she has gone to the bathroom without having an accident in her pants. I am so excited! I’ll keep y’all updated on her progress.
My Young Living order finally came in… y’all, I swear, Amazon prime has spoiled me. I feel like it takes two weeks before my oil order comes in! Ahhhh! Anyway, with the flu and germs being so bad this year, I ordered all the Thieves! Not even kidding. I got two oil blends of Thieves, four hand sanitizers, the cleaning spray and fruit and veggie wash. I LOVE the smell of Thieves oil and how it’s antibacterial. Let’s hope this keeps the sickies away!
If y’all haven’t heard, I have an obsession with Perfect Bars. I started eating them a little over a year ago and I’ve tried every flavor since I ate my first one. Not only are they legit a “perfect bar” but they are so delish. I keep one with me at all times and these can easily be meal replacements if you’re in a pickle or just wanting something simple. I’ve partnered with them a lot over the last year and I have never been disappointed by their bar flavors. They just launched a brand new one called Chocolate Walnut Brownie and it is SO good! It’s their first vegan bar and I was able to taste them before they launched. I buy these bars by the pack and Derrek even loves them. His favorite flavor is Peanut Butter and mine is now the Chcolate Walnut Brownie. Yummmmm.
I get a weekly package from Vici Dolls, not even kidding. This week I got two. I’ve got to reel it in when it comes to my shopping addiction from there but I’ve been buying for Spring and also my trip to Washington DC. I had to grab a few “essentials,” hahahaha. I love that they have quality clothes but also give discounts daily and free shipping somedays. They are my favorite boutique! Not even joking! I purchased this henley for just regular random days around home. I love the color and how comfy it is. I bought this blue dress for my Washington trip because I love the color and the fit anddd it’s bump friendly! It comes in five colors so I am sure I’ll end up buying a few more (shhhh don’t tell Derrek) these would be perfect for vacation or weddings. I LOVE THEM! The last thing that came in my order was this caaautteeee tie dye dress for summer. I plan on wearing it in the Spring with a white tee underneath and then super preg in the summer with a knot in the bottom for extra air flow. hahaha. I’m already planning ahead for the hot seasons coming!
ok, ok… enough of all the mail, let’s get to the questions. I love answering your questions so please, keep them coming.
Q: Any good recommendations for stretch mark prevention cream/ oil?
A. YES! The Beautycounter Baby Balm is amazing for helping prevent and keep stretch marks at bay. It is made with Vitamin E oil and really works to correct things with the skin. It’s also wonderful for cuts, eczema and really dry patches.
Q: What is your favorite non toxic dry shampoo?
A: There is a great brand called Poppy and Pout that I personally use and purchase. Theirs went out of stock I started using my Beautycounter Mattify Powder and it works amazing!
Q: Where is your favorite prenatal vitamin from?
A: I haven’t really found a prenatal that I “loved” taking so I just stuck to nutritional benefits. I use Designs for Health Prenatals and I buy from a local chiropractor in our area.
Q: Do you have any safe pregnancy workouts that I could do at home?
A: I love doing alot of leg and arm workouts with weights. You can buy weights from anywhere but those are crutial in my workouts.
Q: Have you gotten pregnant each time you’ve been nursing?
A: the long and short of it. YES. I wouldn’t count on nursing as a form of birth control ya’ll. I’ve legit breastfed for almost six years straight with SMALL breaks. The struggle is real.
Q: Where do you find pregnancy clothing that is cute?
A: I shop all over the place ya’ll. I love jeans and dresses from Old Navy maternity. I love all of the Isabel Maternity brand sold at Target. I love Pink Blush Maternity – their dresses are BEYOND CUTE and I love this brand called Isabella Oliver. I have worn many of their dresses during my pregnancies and they are SO comfortable and beautiful. They hold up really well and last through multiple pregnancies.
Q: Will you get pregnant at the birth center again?
A: no. I wish that I could but it’s 2 and a half hours away from my house and I can’t do what we did last time. We basically lived with my sister for an entire month during the last month of my pregnancy with Scarlet Reese. I’m thankful for her letting us do that but it’s not even an option this time because she moved into a different house and we don’t have the same amount of space. I’m actually having a homebirth which is what I wanted to do with SR anyway but didn’t have a midwife at that time. Now I do and she is amazing! I’ll keep y’all updated on this homebirth journey.
Q: What ways do you boost your energy levels while pregnant?
A: I love taking all forms of B12, I have recently started using a spray made by Dr. Mercola and also incorporating Bragg Nutritional Yeast into my meals because it is high in B12 levels. If you’ve been watching my instastories, you also know that I LOVE Matcha collagen. There are my nutritional benefits to their Matcha collagen and I love it because it tastes DELISH! I’ll share the recipe for my matcha latte on my blog Monday! Other than that, I think that getting enough sleep is important so take a nap if you can. Even 30 minutes will help. Start working out and that will definitely boost your energy levels. Also, focus on your diet. What foods are you eating? Foods can make you sluggish or energetic so make sure you choose the right ones.
