My goal by sharing my weight loss journey is to help you create a lifestyle that embraces a life full of energy, peace, happiness, and health. As I have mentioned in my previous weight loss blogs, you have to want to change your current lifestyle and become a healthier and better you. What you eat is one of the most important parts of weight loss, so finding foods that have the most nutritional value is key. Derrek and I have worked hard on creating a meal plan that will give you a better understanding of healthy balanced meals. As you’ve heard for much of your life, the most important meal of the day is breakfast. This is absolutely true, so if you have skipped out on this meal in the past, vow today to not make that poor choice again. By not eating breakfast, you are causing yourself to gain weight by slowing your metabolism down. I’ve listed some great ideas for breakfast, and as a matter of fact, I ate these all last week!
Monday – Overnight Oats –
These oats are my favorite breakfast meal right now! I changed it up this week by subbing the apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and seasalt for 1 tablespoon of almond butter, chocolate cashew milk and topping with a crumbled Mrs. Patel’s lactation bar* (*non breastfeeding moms crumble a Luna, Lara or Kind bar on top).
Tuesday – Smoothie Bowl –
Wednesday – Chia Seed Pudding –
Thursday – Two Ingredient Pancakes with Chia Seed Pudding –
Friday – Whole Wheat Burrito –
I made this with 2 farm-fresh scrambled eggs in coconut oil, 1/2 sliced avocado, a tablespoon of black bean and corn salsa with a side of fresh fruit (cut watermelon, grapes, berries, melon, peaches, bananas)
My favorite thing to do when I am in a cooking rut is to go onto Pinterest for inspiration. I type in ‘healthy breakfast ideas’ and scroll until something appeals to my tummy. I hope you start challenging yourself to lead a healthier lifestyle by changing your eating habits and giving your body the fuel it needs. You are absolutely worth this investment in your health.
