hey ya’ll! I hope that you each had a fabulous Christmas and are prepping for the New Year. Holy cow, 2018 is right around the corner! How did that happen? I know that I am personally so excited to start a new year with a new attitude. Over the past few weeks, I’ve thought a lot about what I stress over and why I shouldn’t. The holidays can be a trying time for anyone but especially when you have children and they are stir crazy from being stuck inside. So, it’s easy to get into a mindset of frustration and have a short fuse. I know that I am not the only one and for this reason, I feel compelled to share a little something with ya’ll. Don’t sweat the small stuff. It’s trivial… the piles of laundry, dirty floors, stir crazy kids, etc… don’t let it consume you and make you forget about all of your blessings.
Before I had children, I wasn’t in a good space. Financially and mentally… it was really hard! Even though, I struggled like non other, I wouldn’t change it for the world. All of the hard times I went through and darkness in my life has made me appreciate the good SO MUCH MORE. Had I of not struggled, I honestly don’t feel I would appreciate my life. God had a bigger plan for me and I see it now, even though when I was in the thick of the storm, I couldn’t see it. By the way, by no means is my life perfect BUT I am happy for what it is. I think that understanding that constantly striving for more or wanting what some girl has on Instagram is stealing your joy. Stop and think of 3 things RIGHT NOW that are wonderful in your life. Got them? Good! Do this when you feel like your life isn’t enough. It will help change your head space back to a positive place.
It’s been laid on my heart to share this because I know I am not the only one that has gone through hard times. You might be going through something difficult in your life right now or just letting the hectic holiday time get to you and it’s important to know that you’re not alone. You are going through something because God needs you broken so you can work your way out of that situation and be able to see the greatness of your life. Whatever it is that you’re dealing with, it wont last forever if you just focus on changing it and being BETTER. Working on yourself and making yourself a better person is a never ending job but it’s the most rewarding job you could ever have. You are meant to show the world goodness and help the others around you have a better life. Try and keep that in mind and don’t ever be scared to reach out and talk with someone about what you’re going through. Someone out there, needs to hear what you have to say!
