Our Glamping Trip – Part Two

This post is in partner with Glamping Hub. All opinions are my own. Please read my disclaimer page for more information.

Time is flying by! I can’t believe that it’s already been two weeks since our vacation! The exact site we vacationed at is called End of the Road, Near Lake Lure NC. This a community of tiny home log cabin rentals located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain foothills near Lake Lure, North Carolina. We booked this trip through a website called Glamping Hub and it was SO easy to set up. Not only that, but once we arrived, we really didn’t have to set up or bring anything! How amazing is that? When you have a large family like I do, being able to take less on a vacation is a LIFESAVER! Some of the amenities of this site includes hot tub units, free wifi, DirectTV, gazebo, hiking trail and a cozy little cabin all to ourselves. I’ve personally never been in a tiny house before but after staying in one for a few nights, I really want to make it more of a habit. They are SO neat and I’m even more intrigued by them now. You can read more about it and see more pictures by clicking here.

I think that we will continue going to this particular location because we had the best time! We’ve had a few family vacations but this was honestly the BEST one. The day that we arrived, we hung out at our little cabin and ventured around the End of the Road property. At lunch we decided to try Larkins On the Lake and we were all quite impressed. Apparently, this is the nicest restaurant in town and they use tons of fresh ingredients! The salad I had was delish, along with the risotto cakes I had. Derrek had a steak (of course) and the best sweet potato fries ever! Sweet potato fries are one of my weaknesses and finding good ones are hard. This location definitely knows how to make great dishes.  You can view their menu by heading over to their website. Food is a big deal to me (OBVIOUSLY) and when we go out of town, we really want to enjoy ourselves at a restaurant so, I scoped out a few other places to eat while we were there. Medina’s Village Bistro is great for breakfast! The kids and Derrek had pancakes and I had a huge grain protein bowl with eggs and lots of veggies. For lunch on Saturday, we tried Riverwatch Bar & Grill and I had a buffalo shrimp salad while the rest of my family ate burgers and fries. All around, those are my top three places to dine in that area AND there is an Ingles grocery store right near the cabins that has a wonderful selection of food if you’d rather cook.

For entertainment, we loved being at our cabin location to hang out at the fire pit, make s’mores and play corn hole. We also went on a family hike that resulted in very sore leg muscles the next day and kids that fell asleep earlier than usual (#winning)! Growing up, my dad always told me stories of panning for fools gold and gemstones and it has intrigued me since. This sparked my business, Sweet Tea Jewels, and honestly makes me miss it. I’m sad that I just don’t have the time anymore. I had heard about gem mining by a few friends so we decided to go to Broad River Gemstone Mining with the kids and let me tell you, it was a hit! They have tons of gorgeous gemstones, fossils and artifacts that you can view in their store front and then you can actually gem mine by the river! The kids LOVED panning for gems and left with tons of real gems and fools gold. They really think it’s their treasure and asked to go back the next day! I know that on our next trip, we will go there again. The other fun place that we went was to Chimney Rock, NC. A really bad rainstorm washed out the trails up the mountain so we couldn’t get to the top BUT the town of Chimney Rock had plenty of fun things to do. We went on trails by the river and the kids were just amazed at the river. They had never seen one before! There were also little shops everywhere with cute trinkets and little treats. I recommend this area to anyone with kids because there is SO much to do!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience and can’t wait to go back! I have nothing but nice things to say about how well we were taken care of at End of the Road and it’s worth the trip if you want to go glamping. If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to me. I would love to chat with you and help you book your first glamping experience.

  • I’m sharing all the wonderful reasons we make sure to get outside for at least 20 minutes every day. Now that the weather is warming up, we take every opportunity to soak in the sun! • There might be days where I am still in leggings and my hair is in a bun BUT one thing for sure, I’ll always have lipstick on 💄 I don’t just wear any brand because of common ingredients like: lead, PEG and parabens.., I searched high and low for a high quality non toxic brand that I love and I finally found a winner in @beautycounter! They recently launched two new lip sheers and 8 color intense lipstick colors and they are to die for 😍 it’s just to hard to pick my favorite! Head over to my private Beautycounter group on facebook: A Sweet Beautycounter Life and see Harper and myself try them all on and discuss which ones we love the most 💄
  • It might be a rainy day but this outfit helps me feel extra Spring like! One thing I’ll say about clothes shopping while pregnant is to find styles that you feel flatter your body type the most and are also COMFORTABLE. There’s nothing worse than feeling like you’re stuffed into an outfit that doesn’t fit you well 😩 @isabellaoliver is always one of my go to clothing brands while I’m baby bumpin’. Their quality and style is top notch and I always find pieces I love! They are having a major sale right now so make sure to check out their website 🙌🏼 #partner #29weeks #maternitystyle #babybump #healthypregnancy #wiwn

  • Happpyyyy FRIYAY! I’m working on some fun stuff coming up and I am very excited to share with y’all 👏🏼 I just wanted to show the true color of the @isabellaoliver top I was wearing last night (side note: it pairs perfectly with the @beautycounter coral lipsheer) and the fact that I can still see my toes - barely 🤪 do y’all have fun plans for the weekend? I’m trying to figure out my @artfieldssc schedule 🙌🏼 #pregnant #momlife #bumpstyle #healthypregnancy
